Dufford Terrace Apartments
“Dufford Terrace Apartments” is a non-profit organization of Erie, Pennsylvania.
“ As a housing complex, sponsored by St. John’s Lutheran church, it seeks to provide a positive, nurturing environment for the elderly and the handicapped capable of independent living...”
Sensitive to the dignity and to the worth of the aging and the handicapped individual, housing and neighborhood development services, inc. (h.a.n.d.s., inc.), the management agent of “Dufford Terrace”, aims to promote a secure, creative leisure experience for the residents.
Through staff/resident interaction and joint planning programs are developed to address the intellectual, spiritual, physical, Psychological and Social needs of the residents.
Staff members maintain communication with social and health agencies for the elderly ensuring supportive services for anyone who qualifies and wishes this aid. Likewise, preventative Health Care Services are available so that residents can remain functionally independent and can experience a creative giving stage of life as long as possible.
A cooperative spirit among all within the apartment operation helps the residents know a meaningful leisure life.

A bit of Our History
Erected in honor of Rev. Clair 0 Dufford, Pastor Emeritus of St. Johns Lutheran Church who served the parish for almost 48 years from 1943 to 1982.
Five story building with enclosed walkways to the Benze Memorial Parish Center of St. Johns and to the church, and to the Lutheran Home which will allow for additional benefits for those who desire them Meals on Wheels, full Noontime meals, assistance by the Homes Activity Director and other services.
All apartments are complete with kitchen appliances, carpeting, and individual heating and air conditioning units. A coin operated laundry is available in the building. Includes All Utilities with the exception of phone and cable services.
